3. Third-Party Services
Analytics
We use Google Analytics (Google LLC) to count visits and see which pages are read, and Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) to see, in anonymised form, how readers scroll and click so we can fix confusing pages. Clarity masks text you type. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland both run only after you accept analytics cookies; elsewhere you can switch them off with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Email / Newsletter
If you subscribe or send us a message, your email address (and your message) is stored in our own website database, hosted by Hostinger. If we later use an email service to send the newsletter, your address will be shared with that service only to deliver it, and this page will name it. Unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email, or email hello@whyexplain.com to have your details deleted.
Hosting & CDN
Our site collects standard web server logs (IP address, access time, request data) for security and performance.
4. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, or object to certain processing. Email hello@whyexplain.com to exercise these rights.
5. Data Retention
Newsletter data is retained while you remain subscribed. Analytics data is retained in aggregated, anonymised form. Enquiry data is retained for 12 months unless longer retention is required by law.
