The WhyExplain Editorial Team
WhyExplain is written by a small team of three to four people who research, write, edit and fact-check every explainer together. We publish under one team byline while we prepare individual profiles.
What we cover
Plain-English explainers on money, marketing, business and tech & AI: what a concept means, how it works, and what it means for you, with worked examples and free calculators.
How every article is made
- Research. We start from primary and official sources: government agencies, regulators, central banks, standards bodies and the companies themselves.
- Writing. One team member drafts the article in plain English, with a worked example wherever numbers are involved.
- Fact-check. A second team member checks every figure, date and claim against the sources listed at the end of the article.
- Review dates. Each article shows when it was published and last updated. We revisit articles when rules, rates or data change.
We use AI tools to help with research and first drafts. Nothing is published without a team member reviewing, editing and fact-checking it. Read our full editorial standards, how we fact-check, and how we handle corrections.
Independence
Advertisers and affiliate partners never decide what we write or how we rate anything. Any affiliate link is labelled, and our advertising disclosure explains how we make money.
